We chose this Viking cruise as we saw it offered and after many months of no travel due to COVID, it gave us the opportunity to be "pampered" even if the UK Scenic itinerary was largely the Irish Sea with 2 port stops. Also, after many years with Celebrity our line of choice, it gave us a change to experience something new (at a very reasonable price).

We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the trip from the moment we walked on the ship. As a new ship it was pristine in condition. Our initial impression was more of a high end hotel than a ship and this continued through out the ship where all areas are well designed, spacious and "Skandi" in nature. Service was impeccable and nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent whether in the included speciality restaurants, the main restaurant or in the (served) Buffet.

Yes, we needed to do a daily "spit" PCR test and wear masks inside when not eating and drinking (but that is much of the time!!) and wear a tracking device. However, this didn't interfere with the enjoyment or meeting and engaging with others. These checks actually made us feel safer than being on land going about our regular tasks such as supermarket shopping.

Cabin Review

As one would expect from a new ship (barely a month old) everything was in pristine condition.

Cabin was functional with adequate space and well laid out with a number of nice touches - Heated Bathroom floor; Mini bar replenished daily (Steward happily changed to the contents to our choice - Diet drinks).

We were on Deck 4 (4052) which had cabins above and below so no noise or disturbance even from the Laundry opposite the cabin (but on a 7 day trip probably had limited usage).

Unobstructed view
