So first, let me say, this was our first cruise on Crystal. We normally cruise Celebrity , or occasionally Princess & Royal Caribbean. And to be fair, we sail in Aqua class or above on Celebrity.....which is comparable to prices for this cruise. We decided to try out Crystal to see how we liked it. After reading reviews and other things on here, we were really excited for the experience. Maybe too excited and expected too much. We expected wonderful food, great accommodations, and great entertainment. We got none.

BOARDING

We had to be out of our hotel by 11AM, so even though our boarding time was 3PM, we had to go ahead and head over to the Baha Mar. Even though the boat was only about half full, they made us sit there for 4 hours before they would let us board!!! RIDICULOUS in my humble opinion. Covid or not, it should have been better organized. I am so tired of hearing Covid as the excuse for everything!! Once on board everything went fine and we were taken to our Veranda Stateroom. I really think if we had gotten a penthouse our experience would have been lots better....but I digress.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom with Picture Window

It was old and tired. The "mini-fridge" , if you can call it that, was warmer inside than the whole room was. After 3 days of suffering with freezing temperatures in the room (and yes we had the thermostat all the way to the top), I called the front desk, and engineering did something to help....but that only lasted for about 36 hours. I suppose I should have called about the mini fridge too. But really, I am on vacation....I shouldn't have to point out things that need repairing. We just made do with warm water and sodas. The balcony deck had been repaired, but done in a way as such to create a lip that we tripped over constantly. The room was tiny, but did have a lot of storage. In the bathroom, I hated the shower curtain...it should have been a glass door. The double sinks were a nice touch, and there was plenty of storage. The toiletries that were supplied were in a MUSK fragrance, and not very good products at that! What woman wants to smell like Musk??
