I know that everyone is in need of a real vacation and Celebrity Millennium was there for us - Seattle, Ketchikan, Dawes Glacier, Juneau, Skagway, Seattle. We are a couple, average age 65 with 20+ cruises on Celebrity, Azamara, Oceania, Seabourn, Viking Ocean, Royal Caribbean, Princess, and Norwegian.

Packing - You will need your fluffy winter jacket for the glacier; otherwise, temps required a polartec, long pants, and good walking shoes. We lucked out, but I understand that normally you will need rain gear. Please note that the sea days were too cold and rainy for the outdoor pool. People wore a bit of everything in the evenings from jeans to a couple of long dresses on the chic nights. Most people did dress up a little every night. Bring your own binoculars.

Seattle - Debarkation was confusing and disorganized - the port authority is to blame here. We had a 2:30 time of arrival and sat out in the sun for an hour at a little area a couple blocks from 66 waiting for our time to board. We proceed at the appointed time to find that no one was checking boarding times at all and a long line existed. A woman constantly yelled at everyone to put on a mask in the long snaking, outdoor line. I am personally very turned off by people yelling at people. I am not in elementary school or at summer camp. So not a great start. They checked your vaccine card, but then it went downhill again. When security is the easiest part of check-in, I think you understand. There were various stations, no place to balance everything you were carrying and to hold items out for pictures. We were told we were checked in and could put away our cards, then oh, we had to take them out again. Mask off, mask on. The worst was the guy at the escalator telling adults to hold the hand rail (upon return) - again I am an adult. Sorry, Seattle port authority gets a D. I can't blame some of the port workers who were trying very hard to be friendly under bad conditions and a poorly thought out setup. Read more
