We booked this cruise on 30/04/21 for sailing on 06/08/21. We choose this particular itinerary as it was for 8 days and visited 4 ports, 3 of which we had never been to in Scotland.
When we booked it was for vaccinated adults only, but gradually as time went on it was also opened up to families with children, who wouldn’t be vaccinated, as in England, we are only just starting to vaccinate teenagers(15,16 & 17) starting August 23rd.
This meant that by the time we sailed, everyone had to have a negative PCR test and unvaccinated children had to have a lateral flow test at the port and also 48 hours before disembarkation.
Unfortunately, my husband mixed up the digits and took us to cabin 7102. We saw a stewardess, who gave us our cards and took us to the cabin. As soon as we went inside, I knew this was not our room, as there was no balcony. I wondered if this was a new addition, as it appeared to be an Infinity room.
I immediately took out our booking documents ( which you are advised to have with you) and there it clearly stated that our booking was indeed a midship’s balcony. We then found the stewardess and gave the key cards back.
When we eventually found the correct cabin, the key cards were on the outside of the door.
Our steward quickly appeared, so I asked if we could have larger bathrobes supplied. Theses were quickly replaced.
We then went to deck 14 to the Ocean View cafe, where we tried to sit outside. This was roped off, as it was windy.
