We have just returned from a 4 day seacation and our experience was much better than previous reviews. From arrival at Southampton Docks we were on board in 90 mins with all coved tests completed. The place was overrun with staff who were all extremely helpful and it ran like clockwork. We found the meals to be of a good standard at all times and you had the choice of waiter service for breakfast ( in the main dining rooms) or self service in the Horizon Court cafe. The food in the cafe was better in our opinion. Covid protocols were strict ie mask wearing in public areas but this is to be expected. Princess are trying to get back on their feet and they can’t another high profile news story ( like the Diamond Princess in Japan at the start of the Pandemic). Our balcony cabin made the best use of all available space and it was quiet. Evening shows in the Theatre were of the highest standard and it was good to see live entertainment after such difficult times. Gareth Gates was polished and the resident singers/dancers of West End quality. The resident group, Meridien, performed regularly in the Vista Lounge and good too. Staff were helpful and attentive at all times but struggled a bit to keep up with serving drinks when everyone was out on deck on the first day. I suppose a cruise is all about expectation for the price paid. A very ordinary hotel in Bournemouth was costing £250 per day for b&b. The cruise about the same amount but all inclusive and wall to wall entertainment.
