We had 6 couples on our cruise to Alaska. This had been planned for two years, cancelled twice and had 3 ship changes. So it was exciting to be back on board. With a capacity of 2200 passengers, we only had 850 onboard and over 700 crew. We got spoiled with this ratio. Everyone of the crew was so excited to be there and they could not do enough for us. The waitstaff, the coffee bar attendants, the martini bar staff all knew us by name within a day.

We were upgraded to a sky suite, which was very nice. Since the rest of the group were either balcony or concierge, we spent most of the time with them. We did eat in Luminae the first day for lunch and it was very good. We stopped by the Resort lounge a couple times as it was close to the theater and we would pick up drinks on the way in. On this cruise, there were no drink attendants in the theater.

We had two large tables in the main dining room for dinners. We all thought the food was excellent. I had read that most beef dishes were over cooked. They must have got the message, as our steak and prime rib was cooked great medium rare. The Oceanview Cafe had really good food and it was all attended by crew. They doled out the food. We also went to the Le Petite Chef and that was a fun show with excellent food, including fillet and lobster tail. Read more
