My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 8/22/2021 voyage on the Majestic Princess. We visited Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, and Glacier Bay National Park. Our port of Embarkation/Debarkation was Seattle, and since we were both familiar with Seattle, we did not visit this area and flew in and out on arrival and departure days. I think this was the fifth sailing since the COVID pause and it was truly smooth sailing on the part of the staff and crew. The service was top-notch and we could not have been more pleased with our balcony stateroom on the front of the Lido Deck. The weather throughout the cruise was mostly foggy and drizzly but we were still able to enjoy the scenery and take in the wonders of Alaska! The traditional cruise part is great, like the food, room service, and entertainment, but because we enjoy learning and discovery, the educational aspects of this cruise really made the difference to me and my husband and set this experience apart from other types of cruises that we might have pursued.

We spotted whales, sea otters, seals, eagles, one bear, and various species of birds on our trip. We especially enjoyed the informative talks offered by the naturalist onboard, and the visit by National Park rangers from Glacier Bay National Park. Both the park rangers and the naturalist made announcements on the speakers to draw attention to the landscape and wildlife as we were cruising. This is why we booked the Princess cruise and we were not disappointed!!

The ship was beautiful. The live music in the atrium really added to the ambiance as we made our way to the various activities onboard. The entertainment in the Princess Live! theater was fantastic and kept us laughing each night with trivia contests and game shows. We had so much fun there that we never made it to any of the shows in the Princess Theater. In the Vista Lounge we hit bingo and caught the comedian's show, which was hilarious! We did use the spa one day, for a couples massage, and it was fabulous. There was nothing on this ship that we did not like. The coffee was so-so, but aside from that, thumbs up all the way! I loved that the food in the MDR offered many Alaska favorites like King Crab, halibut, and Baked Alaska.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Balcony (obstructed view)

The cabin was great, on the Lido deck and close to all of the action. We loved our balcony on the front of the ship.

Port Reviews

Glacier Bay

We chose this cruise because we wanted to learn more about the landscape and wildlife of Alsaka.
