Review of 3 day weekend cruise on the MSC Meraviglia.
Our group of 4 consisted of my husband and I along with my 2 sisters. We have all cruised many times but it was the first time on MSC. We booked this about a month out and got a last minute deal of a free balcony upgrade at the inside price. Not knowing MSC we booked the Bella and the balcony was solid metal and when sitting you could not see out. It was nice to have the light, but had we know that we would have paid the $20 per person upgrade to fantastica and then the balcony wall would have been clear. We received many update communications from MSC mostly about the COVID testing and we felt these communications were good and kept us current. We all tested in our home states and were glad to know that we were negative prior to flights to Miami. We arrived at the port at the assigned time, and boarding was fast and smooth. We were able to go directly to our rooms and leave the luggage prior to lunch.
After reading the many reviews about food we were worried, but we all agreed the food in all venues was good, not great, but not cold and not too bad. We did find the drinks to be very good. We had the easy package and the service was FANTASTIC. I specifically want to shout out to Savio Mendess in the Horizon Pool area and on the island. His service was the best in over 40 cruises. Prior to our trip we read that drinks were slow and service was bad. That was NOT the case for us. We ate in the dinning room and at the buffet and felt the service was good.
Cabin was good, with enough storage for a weekend cruise. Warning if the deck plan has a "GREY" balcony, it means you have a solid metal balcony wall and will not be able to see out when seated.
