We were excited to go on a trip since we have been locked up since 2019 like most people. We were also pretty worried/ concerned with the surge in cases prior to our trip. here is a review on what to expect while you cruise during this pandemic. (the highlights and changes from your normal cruise)
1. Pre Cruise: Royal Caribbean was very active in sending reminders and updates with health protocols prior to our trip. adults must be vaccinated, show their card and show proof of a negative covid test within 3 days of the cruise departure. we had ours done in Florida at a nearby CVS since we stayed at the Grand Floridian and did Disney prior to the cruise. you can pay for the test at the MCO airport! very convenient if needed.
2. Check In: you must arrive at the specified time that you set when you check in on the app or online. I read that you will wait outside if you show up early. we ended up an hour early and we just got in line and went through the process.
we had owners suite on deck 11. it was great, the jacuzzi tub was amazing. extra large balcony, nice sitting room with a tv and plenty of storage.
stayed close to port. just in the marina there and played with the dolphins. very clean and we enjoyed it. not a lot else outside of this part of the island though.
we got off for 10 minutes and got back on the boat. hasn't done well through the pandemic it seemed like. better to stay on the pool deck for us.
amazing day! we did the club at coco beach. what an amazing island.
we went to the Hilton for the day. close to port. good shopping. nice people and food. clean beaches
