My husband and I had a lovely cruise on the Escape. The ship is beautiful, the food was great, our balcony cabin was nice, and the scenery was beautiful.

Embarkation day: The COVID test went very smoothly. Took about 40 minutes from check in to getting our wristband. After that, we waited about 30 minutes in the pre-boarding area. We headed straight to the mandatory check in at our assigned muster location (which is noted on the key card). After that we went to The Local to get a table and order lunch. We like to go to The Local (on other ships it is O’Sheehans) as opposed to the buffet. [ A little hot tip- we had inadvertently made 3 reservations for Cagney’s. The manager at The Local helped us to cancel the ones we didn’t want. Turns out any of the crew at the restaurant check in desks can help you update your reservations for any of the restaurants that offer reserved seating.] Afterwards, we headed down to the Social Comedy and Night Club to reserve seats for a couple of shows. Those that required reservations were: the comedy shows in the Social Comedy and Night Club and Kinky Boots. We walked around the ship and checked out the pool, race car track, laser tag area, etc. We were able to go into our cabin around 2:30. Two of our three bags were at our door. We found our third one down the hall in front of a different cabin.

Cabin: We stayed in a (starboard, mid ship) which is a balcony cabin. It was a nice cabin with plenty of space for my husband and I. I brought magnetic hooks to hang all the extra gear (rain coats, sweaters, etc.) They worked out great!! Found them on Amazon. There were no towel animals on this cruise. We did notice that the pillows were arranged differently each evening though. The heating and cooling worked just fine. One thing that was disappointing was that the navigation channel wasn’t always available. We enjoy tuning in from time to time to see where we are.
