We travelled as a couple with another 3 couples and had lots of uncertainty before travelling due to Covid but once we got to Athens and had our pre-board test it all went very smoothly. Boarding was very easy. The whole ship felt very clean and safe. The staff were amazing and continually reminded you to wash your hands and wear masks whilst walking to your table in the restaurant and when getting your food in the buffet. Food was served in the Garden Cafe rather than helping yourself but we felt this was a much better arrangement and probably resulted in less food waste. We had the drinks package which was excellent with a great variety of drinks and cocktails, all the waiting staff were brilliant in the bars we ranks at, mainly Magnums and the Pool. We also had 2 speciality dining where we chose the Steakhouse and the Italian. Both excellent. We also has $200 onboard dining and chose to use some of this for a visit to Le Bistro which we did not enjoy much. All in all our extras that NCL gave us probably covered the cost of the cruise!!! We had a balcony cabin 10138 and found it rather small compared to other cruises. The addition of a sofa was not necessary and maybe more storage would have been a better use of the space. It was in a great location though and easy to get to most things. We didn't take advantage of most of the entertainment as chose to attend the pool events during the afternoon and after dinner as felt safe being outside. We thought all the entertainment staff there were great with some great singers in the afternoons. We wish we had taken note of all their names. The one person who stood out during the evening events was Alex, a young lad from The Ukraine, a great asset to the team! Our one criticism would be the DJ who tended to play whatever he like regardless of anyone dancing. On the last night he managed to clear the dance floor with his taste of music. He did not read his audience very well!! We didn't use any official short excursions and chose to do our own thing as all the ports of call were within walking distance to the local towns. We would recommend Viator for their small minibus tour to Olympia though. The procedure for the Covid test before disembarking was very well handled too!
