Firstly, thank you Marella for making a difficult cruise very pleasant.

We booked this cruise when it was first advertised months ago thinking there was a good chance that it would be cancelled......it wasn't and we arrived at Southampton on the 10th September, with some exitement but fulll of intrepidation and expectance of difficulties from Covid 19 new proceedures. We had pre booked a Dockside parking area, expecting to drop off the cases in the shipside hanger but were directed straight into the car park. This meant we had to get the luggage from the car park to the hanger with kuggage trolley's. No particular problem, but may effect people with walking difficulties. After luggage drop off we were guided to rooms set up for the initial swab tests. After tests we were sent to a seated holding area, to await the test results.(approx 15 minutes) We were then asked to go through security into the check in area where the usual documentation checks were made, ships id card raised and credit card details taken. Following this we were shown entry to the ship. This whole process was around 45 mins. We had booked a junior balcony suite on deck .10. Our cases were already outside the cabin. The suite was quite spacious and had plenty of cupboard space. The suite was spotlessly clean......Masks to be worn at all times except when drinking or eating or out on deck. Sanitizers were probrably put at every 10 metres. Each day we were to attend a tempreture checking station on deck 6, scan our cruise card and have our temp checked. No problems here, as very straight forward, however if you forgot to do this you received a letter from reception, and informed that ones credit account would be put on hold until this temp check had been completed.

We booked this cruise thinking that we were not allowed to travel ashore without being a part of a ships Excursion, we checked this out with the excursions desk and were told that in the past week things had once again changed and that Portugal was now the only country insisting accompanied bubble travel......good news.
