I have always wanted to go on an adventure on the Mississippi River. Maybe from reading the Mark Twain books or just to know what it was like. The best part of any voyage is to enjoy the journey. The America is a six deck fully equipped ship with a restaurant on deck one that will seat all the guests aboard, we had a great chef that would creat delicious meals. My stateroom was on the second deck a good location with the Magnolia entertainment room in the forward of the ship. We had Carl the piano man to entertain us everyday from 5:30 to 7 pm with had appetizers and beverages. Dinner was always three choices of the highest quality. I had a balcony to watch the waves and passing River tugboats that pushed cargo barges. We had two self serve lounges on the rear of the boat deck two and four. There was always fun activities morning stretch, name that tune, watercolor class, Lecture talks on the next days ports, board games, a movie on the big screen. We always had good excursions on American Cruise Line buses to tour the cities we stopped in. I felt very safe in this crazy COVID world, we were the only ones on the tour buses and we all wore masks and all tested for COVID. I didn’t get the virus, we stay safe.
