So before the whole COVID thing, we booked a Carnival vacation for a Spring 2021 Vacation with our twin 17 year olds boys. It was a great price for 2 connecting cabins during the week when their school is closed for spring break so we decided to give Carnival a second chance after an average experience on our first Carnival cruise in 2018. Well that Spring cruise was cancelled and we re-booked for the first cruise out of Long Beach. We were excited to get back on the seas.

Since this was one of their newest ships we were excited to see how Carnival might have an elevated experience on the Vista class ships vs the older ship we were on in 2018. Well.. It was not elevated. We are foodies and love good entertainment. The food was poor to average. On the final day, they literally ran out of ham for the eggs benedict and substituted with Bologna. BOLOGNA!!! They also was a daily search for splenda from day 4 on, with the search becoming futile on day 6. The deli was horrible. The buffet was borderline inedible. The Guy's BBQ joint was DRY. Like horribly dried out meats. The Italian food was average at best. Olive Garden if that quality. The Seafood shack could not even complete a fried seafood platter in under 40 min. The Lobster roll was basically Mayo and very wet. JiJis was the best during dinner. I would say was good, but I have had much better, authentic asian food often. The MDR was poor, tasteless, and served lukewarm. The steak was unable to even be chewed. My twins dubbed it meat gum.

Entertainment. Basically better than a high school production, if it's a high school that is not focused on the arts. I seen better productions in college. Average singers, poor sound production, poor costumes and overall uninspiring. The comedy was a highlight, but only 2 of the 4 comedians were good, where 1 of the 2 good ones was amazing. Jersey I'm looking at you. You are the man!
