Well here we are back from our first ever cruise so far from the UK, boarding in Auckland and finishing in Sydney,
What we wanted was to experience something really new so the Diamond Princess arrives in Australia. So what culinary treat do we get as the restaurant theme>>>THAI. Amazing !! Who'se idea was that ??
We never got the feel of the great food experience of our being anywhere near New Zealand or Australia on board. All the boat is is a little America and that is who it caters for. We were told that is because the Americans were the majority of the passengers but that was not the case, there were 1100 compared to 1500 from the rest of the world.
We also had one of the best weather days twice taking over three decks by the big screen showing American football with all the accompanying noise, plus barsscreening the matches. No thought of the odd soccer match which is recognised world wide, but no just satisfy the USA so called majority.
The entertainment was very poor just the same show each time, singers and dancers with a different theme.
On the plus side it's a great ship, the staff are briliiant and the drink prices are really good especialy with the after eight offers, but that is our last trip on an American owned line. We go to America regularly but do not want another little America on waterthank you very much. Richard & Lorna
No complaints, quite comfortable and even part restricted view not a problem
