My husband and I along with another couple traveled from Lisbon to Southampton in April. The itinerary was lovely (Bilbao, Spain - WOW)and the ship was in pretty good condition. We are Emerald with the Crown and Anchor Society and were truly disappointed by the service issues on this boat. The staff were not typical of RCCL. Most problems were related to the main dining room. One afternoon at lunch they forgot to take our order! We were seated at 1:20 and enjoyed salad while chatting... We finally asked for menus, gave our orders and then a group of staff returned to say the kitchen was closed. Ooops! Dinner service was slow. Items were mixed up, requests were overlooked. The food was not good. Malt Vinegar was served as a salad dressing? Wait staff (including head waiter) did not understand food allergy issue - not usually a big problem.Other small issues: Water for room took 48 hours and a telephone call for delivery. Twice our laundry was not delivered on time (2 more telephone calls). Cafe Lattitudes had soymilk but it was frozen. Disembarkment was a mess - as a result our tour left 30 minutes late. Each item was a small issue but our disappointment was cumulative. We also took along another couple who were new to cruising. Fortunately, they got a great price and did not have any comparison. It was embarassing for us but we told them this experience was an exception. A final note - All Four of Us Arrived Home with the Flu! We do not know others who are sick and our only contact with the other couple was dinner every night. We strongly suspect that we got sick from the boat! As a side note, on board entertainment and activities were truly boring. Nothing new on this ship! Lots of elevator music - very, very dated. Fortunately, this was not a high priority for us.I hope those cruising on Vision in the near future got a good price and/or have low expectations! So sad... This cruise was definately not up to RCCL standards!

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

This ship was in wet dock a short time prior to our cruise. Uphostery throughout the ship had been replaced. However, carpet looked like it was due for a change. Our room and the ship was relatively clean but some hard surfaces showed wear (mirror chipped, floor slightly damaged, metal corrosion, etc). Bathroom had a particularly dated appearance. Our kettle to heat water did not work well. Just fine for a value cruise but disappointing if we were paying more or compared to other ships.
