Sail Date: Sep 2011

The Emerald Princess is a LOVELY ship of the Princess Line. Fresh colors and great layout. Embarkation was a breeze; very organized at handling large numbers of passengers-remained throughout the sail. Despite very rough conditions, the thrusters kept the ship relatively even for most of the time. Only those on very high floors felt the motion adversely. Entertainment was very good and diverse. Only criticism would have been that a popular singer/entertainer drew such a croud that the space given to him was inadequate and many were unable to 'get in to see him'. Mini suite was lovely...quiet, bigger than balcony cabin and very cozy @ a reasonable price.$25/bag laundry was reasonable mid cruise, but, did NOT like having to use quarters to be able to wash in the self service laundrys. The steak house was especially good; food presentation excellent-good rage and beef qualtiy also excellent. The itinerary was wonderful with many interesting ports; including: Amsterdam, Oslo, (missed Kristiansand),Glasgow, Dublin, Belfast, Rajakvic, Quacortac, Halifax & Ft Lauderdale and unusual given the 'crossing status'...as many lines would not include more than one-three wonderful ports. We only missed Christiansand, Norway, due to the rough weather on the tail of the hurricaine. Never having sailed Princess before... as long as one doesn't mind larger passenger size, I would recommend sailing again. The larger size ship offerred a sense of anonimity which contributed to greater relaxation. In fact have booked, already, a norway & North cape sail for 2012.one big criticism was the internet for it was unavailable more than it was available. Way toooo much $$$ for the value. Overall...great value for the $$$

Cabin Review

Cabin sui

Mini suite was cozy; more than adequate size with adequate balcony. Would have liked a chaise, however, the chairs reclined and one could use the second chairs as foot stools. Quiet room with only occasional sound. Didn't like that the outside didn't have a sheltered top...not private at all. Hard to hear the announcements, however, had to open the door each time to hear them. Would always book a mini suite on this line...as it is great value for the money !
