I liked that it was a fairly new ship and it was going to Alaska. It was booked at only 60% passenger capacity, but within 3 hours of embarkation all the theatre shows were reserved. Then, all the theatre shows were cancelled, replaced by comediennes who weren’t prepared to do all those added sets. When arriving to the terminal, NCL has taken the step of having a "free" Covid 19 test preformed on ALL passengers before being allowed to embark. LOL! We just had a fantastic time on this Cruise on the Norwegian GEM out of Miami departing August 29th and wanted to rave about the great job NCL did!!!! They made us feel safe and sound given their vaccination requirements and CVS testing right there at the dock before being able to board. Good bein back reviewin cruises.. spent few nites before cruise in Athens sightseeing whic i recommend! Port was fairly close by.. we had aset time to arrive and get tested.. was efficient and after our results we hoarded.. masks must be worn in public indoor spaces and captain makes daily reminders to do so.. on deck some did and others did not.. if u order from bar u must have mask on! ...

We absolutely loved this cruise because it concentrated only on Greece with all it history and uniqueness. We were able to see best parts of the Greece and enjoy the comfort of the ship. We visited 6 major Islands, Olympia and spend a few days in Athens after cruise. Our only wish was better port hours because each island has it's own beauty and we wanted more time to explore them. ...

We decided to take a last-minute cruise out of Miami on the Gem. This was the first sailing after Covid. I have to say that the process of Embarkment was excellent! New terminal is gorgeous and check in , with 100% testing went quickly and smoothly. The crew from the Captain on down seemed really happy to be back at sea.
