Falmouth is still a relatively new stop and there isn't much to do there. We hired a tour to go to Dunns River Falls and Irie Blue Hole. Our stop at the falls was spectacular, we have been there before. Our stop at Irie Blue Hole was a first for us and we found the tour operators there to be awful. The shopping experience in the pier is fine and my father did buy some alcohol but overall this isn't a great port. Beaches in Jamaica, I feel are much worse than the Mexico beaches. Taxi drivers are constantly hounding you for a fare and you really do feel like you're stepping into a 3rd world county when you leave the security of the pier ...

We were warned on a previous cruise going to Falmouth that the port was built due to cruisers not wanting to get off the ship to prevent being harassed. We fully understand why Royal Caribbean built such a beautiful port! There are plenty of shops and eateries without having to leave the infamous gate to get into downtown Falmouth.
