We ate at The Rustic Inn on Dania Beach. They offer a free shuttle to/from their restaurant. They have a huge menu with a wide variety of seafood offerings. We had the double lobster tails and also the Queen crab which came with 3 clusters per order. Their Hurricane drinks are great. This is a casual restaurant serving many people who are using hammers to open their seafood. So it is a bit on the noisy side, but everyone seemed to be having a good time. Our waitress even asked if we wanted our lobster delivered at a separate time from our crab so that it would still be hot. It is a moderately expensive place, but the seafood was cooked perfectly. Enjoyed the airboat ride and alligator show. Our tour guide (Lance) was particularly good. He filled the ride to and from the Everglades with lots of interesting and relevant information.

We seemed to be the wrong demographics as most of the people were older adults and young partying adults. The hotel in Fort Lauderdale was again okay for one night, but was very rough around the edges. We stayed at the Hilton Marina. I liked that the hotel was right on the water. We could get the water taxi right from the hotel and we could walk around the marina and look at boats. They had a pool but it was too cold to try it. The room itself was old and in bad need of a remodel. The doors were creaky with paint pealing off and the bathroom appeared old . Read Less
