We are Platnum Carnival Cruise cruisers and decided to try MSC. We loved the ship, room Stuart was great and the bartenders we encountered were we also great. I like the buffet lay out easy to get to items I wanted. The shows were pretty good but we could not take any drinks in, that was a bummer#1. After reading all the reviews I went with an open mind and little expectation Boarding was easy at Southampton and we were onboard by 1 pm Quick lunch in buffet and off we went to explore. Wanted to find an itinerary that suited everyone. We were a group of 6 adults with 3 children and wanted to leave after xmas. We took this cruise from Guadalupe for seven days. Ship is great and very modern. The main issue we had was that everything is so disorganized. You can ask the same question to numerous employees and get a different answer each time. We spent a good part of our vacation resolving issues. Another issue was with the restaurants. We chose this 2 week cruise at Christmas because of the amazing itinerary. It visited some islands we hadn't visited before, including Guadeloupe, where we wanted to do the "Death in Paradise" tour, going to the locations used in the TV series. Choose this cruise because of departure port. Been in Suites on NCL Royal Caribbean and Princess. Food whilst good was ruined by very poor service. Drinks were particularly slow to come. On one occasion I sent my main course back (after two previous courses I was still waiting for wine). Had to escalate issue to Maître De before obtaining any improvement. Same could have been said for bar service. ...
