Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Pride of America

Pride of America is an anomaly in the NCL fleet - it does not vary from its four-island Hawaii itinerary - no sea days - never leaving American waters - no casino (as per law). I was relieved to discover that its design was not all colonial / monument style - that is limited to the main lobby and a few restaurants. The other public areas are themed around the rest of America: Napa CA (wine bar), ...

We were pleasantly surprised by this cruise, based on previous reviews. The ship was clean and the service was very good. The food was adequate, you can usually find something to eat. Our cabin steward was excellent. The evening shows were not that great but there was always Music in the Lounge. We only did one tour from NCL and we would NOT recommend it. It was the hike to a waterfalls ...

Great trip with a few considerations

This was my 5th+ time cruising with NCL and this trip was for my honeymoon. In general, I enjoyed the trip, the ports & excursions were excellent. The onboard activities were just alright, the cruise director seemed nice but would make odd/ cringey comments, during the game shows it was often awkward for the guests on stage. I was also upset to see that most if not all of the exercise classes ...

Better than Expected

Everything went well from check in to cruising and ports except there was a day in one of the restaurants where the service was very slow. Entertainment was fun for the ones we attended (comedy show and singer). The ship was nice and clean and the bar service was very good. Staff was friendly and service overall was very good. Getting on/off the ship was easy in ports and everything was very ...

So I thought I would share b/c I was quite stresses prior to the cruise based on older pre-pandemic reviews and feedback. Ultimately, we chose this b/c our family was visiting Hawaii for the first time and had no knowledge of what to do and where to go. It was a great choice as we were able to see the major stops and decide where we want to return to. We booked an extra day before and after to ...

Laundry: Yep, I am not paying 1.99 for 1 piece of underwear. On day 2 in Maui go to Kahului Laundromat. They only take cash so be prepared (1 roll of quarters did a large load of laundry and 30 minutes of drying time). It was an hour out of the trip and the right call for us. If you flew in early, then that should be enough to get you through the rest of the cruise. Taxis: You are better off ...

My first long cruise

To be honest, 14 days would have been plenty enough aboard this ship. Also, my first time sailing with RC, I can tell you beforehand I'm extremely satisfied and booked another RC cruise with a shorter duration, Getting on in Honolulu was easy enough, they had me apply for NZ and AUS visa on my phone in the cruise terminal before boarding, they informed me that I would need to disembark without ...

We chose this cruise to get us back to our home port, without the need for a long flight at the end. We had commenced a Panama trip in April on the Island Princess, unfortunately, we were medically evacuated after day one. The trip on the Majestic was a last-minute booking to make up for our missed holiday. The ship was the biggest we have cruised on and although very well laid out we would still ...

I chose this cruise for 2 reasons firstly I wanted to go to Hawaii and shop and cruise back to avoid excess luggage charges from all my purchases, and secondly I wanted the package deal that included the flights hotel stay pre cruise and for the right price of course, I found what I wanted with cruise away, can highly recommend them. Anyway our first 3 cruises were with RC, and only started ...

I can honestly say we had a great time, we booked the cruise as a different way in coming home to Australia from the USA, with the price of airfares these days it was a no brainer, we were told it was a repositioning cruise and were told not to expect too much, we had no expectations so thought, lets go! We booked a rear suite, a premier drinks package with all the trimmings direct with ...
