Long wait to get off boat with queues due to immigration process for entering UK plus tenders. We rented a car as above and explored the island. Lots of cute horses and a jewellery manufacturing area and galleries and gorgeous island scenery ...

The ships tour warned of the tour as being strenuous and it was. The walk up the hill to the fort was rough on this 78 year old and I was the laggard on the 3 mile walk, but made it. I think I would have done better just walking around on my own! ...

Moussa island Excursion was an incredibly wonderful surprise. A 6 mile walk around the island that includes a 2000 year old Broch, a bird reserve, sheep, lots of sheep, a ferry ride, whole thing was just fun and interesting. ...

We were lucky that it was a perfect summers day. Very unusual for Shetland which is normally rainy and windy. This was a tender port. The ship was too big for the harbour. ...

If you feel brave and do not want a big ships tour, get on the local bus down to Sumburgh airport- a one hour ride each way through tiny rural communities meeting the locals along the way. The bus goes every hour from just across the road from where the shuttle drops you. You can get off the stop before the airport and visit the Viking settlement and come back on an hour later so three hours ...
