I've been to Southampton a number of times before. I like to stay at the Ibis so I can walk down from the bus stop. Its also very close to the train. This time I went to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. The Mary Rose and Victory were wonderful. I stayed until closing but I had to wait an extra hour for the train due to strikes so I went over to the Gunwharf Quays shopping centre and had a wander. Not a lot here. Some very neat historical structures to see, but the main thing here is the port and the 6 block multi-story interior and exterior shopping mall complex.
