The Elder Cruise -- Buyer Beware!

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Insignia

I chose this cruise as a way to spend time with my sister, who typically takes less active vacations than my husband and I. Full disclosure, we are used to smaller ships that manage their own shore excursions, have clear pricing, do not nickel and dime passengers for drinks, or tack on a "gratuity" at the end of the trip in the amount of $400 for unspecified goods or services. The average age of ...

First and Last Viking Cruise

We chose Viking because we had heard so many positive things about this company. We were very disappointed in this cruise. The service in the Restaurant and the lack of efficiency in the way things were run was a disappointment. The service in the Specialty Restaurants was better than The Restaurant, the food was better in the Specialty Restaurants. Excursions that were free were ...

Luxury gone at Seabourn

We traveled with Seabourn 4 times in past. This was our first post Covid trip. Beautiful interiors. Took their highest level veranda on the 8th floor . Small room. Impossible shelving cabinet that left little room in front of bed. Tiny shower, large bath that was quite deep and was difficult to use. House staff worked very hard. Restaurant staff not trained. Requesting water was a big ...

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Seven Seas Navigator

We choose this cruise because of the destination, itinerary and the small size ship. I will start the positive experience saying that the staff was amazing and so serviceminded. They really made this cruise. Public areas: Very nice ambience and nicely decorated but a bit dated. Suit - concierge: Also very nice except for the very dated bathroom. We had a leaking toilet which resulted in ...

OLD SHIP

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Seven Seas Navigator

We had credits left over from Covid cancelled cruises and decided to see the changing of the leaves on this trip (B/B) from Montreal to Miami. We had been on the Navigator about 11 years ago on a Miami round trip to the Amazon. We heard that it had been refurbished but we found that the ship still creaks and vibrates--so much so it kept us up some nights when the wind was strong and the seas high. ...

Interesting and different destination

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Zaandam

I have been holding off because I hate to complain but I gave them the 3-5 weeks they asked for our refund and after several calls and emails still nothing is resolved. On June 4th we took the New England/Canada cruise. We where delayed over an hour on departure and once again my gifts that where to be in the room for my wife's birthday where not there. Same as our Alaskan cruise. The TV had less ...

Dirty room, child-size beds, bad food

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Silver Whisper

We chose this cruise because Bridge at Sea was holding a bridge event, the bridge was fine- the ship was a huge disappointment. The interior spaces are old and tired, wear and stains on every surface. The room was tiny, we knew that, but we didn't know that the beds weren't full sized, the brochure said "queen-sized", instead they were shorter and narrower than standard beds. Nice quality linens, ...

Poor communication

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Zaandam

Had to be bussed 4 hours to the second port because the ship was under repair. Had to wait in the lobby for hours for a bus because they had no idea when we would go. We were compensated $75 for the trouble. Communication for Immigration back into the country and tendering were also very poorly handled. The good news was the food was better than other lines I’ve been on and the ship was ...

There were three stops on this cruise that were not worth one hour much less a day!Trois Rivieres,Quebec, Corner Brook,Newfoundland to name two. The food in the main dining room was mediocre at best and the service there was poor. I have cruised Oceania many times and felt this is no longer a first class experience. On sail aways, like from New York, all they had was a band and no wine or ...
