Nassau has a redesigned port and it was wonderful. It was totally rebuilt 6 months ago and was very clean and safe. It was quite an upgrade from our previous visits and we were very impressed. We traveled with friends who have been here in the past and they're view was on the overall improvement to the area. Once you leave the ship you go right into a "controlled/gated" area with a lot of small shops and vendors. You can venture out to the main area and stroll the streets and the other shops.
