Catch a local bus to Chora and the monastery, it's 1.30 euro each way as opposed to 80 euro with the boat. ...

Probably my favorite port on this trip. Just beautiful. I went to cave of the apocalypse and St John’s Monastery. Excellent tour guide. Nice little restaurants and shops. ...

Patmos was a beautiful island which our ship seemed to have all to itself, as we visited in the evening. The village with its charming houses and winding streets was quiet and deserted except for some adorable cats. We visited Saint John's Monastery and the cave of the Apocalypse, which were very fascinating historical sites. ...

I would give it a five but you are at the mercy of taking a tour or being on a "scheduled taxi." Our tour was fine, but those who took taxis were given insufficient time to visit the two main sites. Visited the Cave of the Apocalypse, Monastery of St. John and the Windmills of Patmos. Be aware that photographs are not allowed at the Cave of the Apocalypse or the Monastery of St. John. We took the private tour option, but the regular tour would have been just as good. ...

There isn't too much to do in Patmos and rather than take the $100+ NCL tour pp, we took a taxi for 40 euros total and visited the monastery, church of the apocalypse and had some time to walk around on our own to see the windmills and cats! ...
