We made our own excursion by taking an Uber and rental car to El Yunque. Driving on the island isn't for everyone, but I had been before and we were good. I would wait for El Yunque to reopen before I would pay a tour to go here as it is mostly a drive thru experience to see waterfalls from or near the road. Still neat to be in the only rainforest in US. We also drove to Isla Verde to experience one of the best beaches around. Great body surfing waves. Be aware that the no-seeums bite at dusk... Old San Juan is losing its charm as it refurbishes. But it is still pretty. Walk along La Principessa to the Fort Morro for fantastic views under shade trees. Lots of history if only the ship gives you enough time. Read More

We love walking around this old city. There is so much to see and even with 3 cruise ships in port it didn't seem crowded. Old San Juan is completely walk-able and for those with mobility issues or small children there is a free pubic bus ... Read More
