First time in this town and liked it more than I expected. We chose a ship’s tour to the nearby Tayrona national park, which is very beautiful and recommended. If you choose to go, ask a lot of questions about the boats being used to take you there, as we had an unacceptably bumpy (dangerous) ride on small speedboats in bumpy seas. we booked a VERY EXPENSIVE tour to a beach at a private resort including lunch through the ship. enroute the tour guide told us to stay at the pool - we would be hounded by vendors on the PUBLIC beach if we swam on the beach.....what?? For a country that has so much money from coffee, oil and illegal drugs, it should be ashamed of the vast slums that 70% of its people are compelled to live in.
