If you like shopping--especially jewelry, this port has tons of shops. The shops are very close by even though taxi drivers tell you it takes 20 minutes. It actually takes maybe 10 minutes with a normal pace. You make a left and follow the sidewalk. The Boardwalk has plenty of shops. Clean and seems relatively safe. There's a small beach parallel to the shops, too. ...

This was the only port that one excisable tour was offered. It was nice to be able to get off the ship. The bus driver started by announcing that he hates driving tours and he was forced to take us. ...

Took the local bus to Maho (airplane) Beach. Just ask a local and they can point you to the pickup points. Only $2.50 per person each way. Easy and fun. Look up the plane schedule on the internet. It's posted when you get there at the Sunset Bar but look ahead of time to know whether you need to hurry or not. ...

The Scenic Coastal Hike excursion on St. Maarten cost us $49.99 each and was a much better deal if you want to stretch your legs, breathe some fresh air, and feel a little of the heat. The excursion picture is an accurate depiction. The guide was great, very knowledgeable, and provided water at the beginning and end of the hike. Yes, it was hot and the fall potential was obvious but everyone ...

Finally did my bucket-list Flying Dutchman zip line--been trying to go since being rescheduled several times since 2020. I'm a bit handicapped, but managed okay with "ski lift" and stairs, getting on the actual Flying Dutchman was a bit challenging, but staff was very helpful and had a great ride! Didn't do the other zip lines, as time constraint with Royal Caribbean ship also in port at venue. ...

Terrible port. The people are just not ready for tourism and to accommodate American hospitality. Nothing like Nassau, Turks and Caicos, or Jamaica. I’d consider this port a dangerous place to visit with family. ...

Phillipsburg, St Maarten, we rented a car from Coastal Rental. Be careful where you go to rent from. We started with another rental, but all his vehicles were not nice and didn't have AC. Then drive to Maho Beach and drive around the island. This was one of the better port days. ...
