The port at St Thomas was rather a dump. Shopping in the immediate area was just ok with not much else around. Most of the town looked poorly maintained. There were no clear instructions on where to get a taxi either. We ended up just asking someone and got pointed to two different drivers.

I thought I knew St Thomas pretty well as we rented a villa there for a week following the fiasco with Caribbean Princess in 2012. However, at that time I was not interested in snorkeling. Searching for accessible opportunities for this cruise, I ended up with the Secret Harbor beach. Following the advice of CC, I reserved two chairs and umbrella at AA divers, part of the resort.

This port would have been 5 stars, but unfortunately the set up at the pier for excursion departures was awful. There is no shade and no seating. We took the ferry from Red Hook, St. Thomas to the island of St. John. From the Cruz Bay ferry dock a 40 minute hike along the Lind Point Trail gets you to beautiful Honeymoon Beach. It was a gorgeous, quiet beach with some lounge chairs and umbrellas. The water was absolutely perfect. We even saw a sea turtle and it swam around us for a while. Incredible! ...
