Six-star cruise line, five-star ship

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Seven Seas Navigator

Regent is going considered a six-star line, but as an experienced cruisers we found this to be a five-star ship. Here are a few notes (issues and highlights by category): Accommodations: Exceptional suites, extremely lean and despite their age are very well maintained, albeit with a somewhat outdated color palette. Very comfortable bedding, ample closet space, shower and tub separated, ...

Tahiti is wonderful

Overall a great experience. Lost Moorea due to weather and Nuku Hiva was a waste of fuel. Should have added more time in Bora Bora. Ship is old but kept up pretty nicely. Air conditioning worked perfectly. Crew is great led by Ray, cruise director, who was everywhere. Boarding: This was a mess with a long line as everyone seemed to board at the same time. Conversely, the disembarkment was ...

Difficult cruise- bad weather and other- but…

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Crystal Serenity

The positives: Wonderfully friendly, nice, helpful crew. My Butler, Van, was as nice as pie- I felt like he was my son- and so funny too! My hair highlights were done and corrected by Maria, in the Salon- and she fixed my color, (which had been ruined in Athens 5 months earlier), which I thought couldn’t be done- just amazing. Unfortunately we both forgot to give me the formulas she used, so I ...

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Nautica

After 37 years cruising, we decided that a trip and cruise to Tahiti and French Polynesian Islands would be a fitting finale. Oceania Nautica's itinerary and cruise dates were the answer. I read the reviews on here, plus social media and I had a good idea what to expect. Here are my thoughts on this cruise, the ship, food, entertainment. Embarkation: Arrived in the rain at 1130am. The ...

July 15, 2023 sailing from Papeete to Marquesas, on deck 9 starboard in Superior Deluxe room: great. Breakfast buffet, 12 or 12:30 lunch, 7 or 7:30pm dinner. 97 passengers (very much less than capacity) about 65% French speaking and 35% English/Deutch. Liked: Food was wonderful, fixed menus but well prepared and interesting. Red or white wine at lunch/dinner, and changes from one to ...

Excellent cruise but in part because ship was half full

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Norwegian Spirit

Polynesia was on our bucket list and the timing for this cruise worked out. We've sailed on Norwegian before and were generally pleased although those were on larger/newer ships. The itinerary was Tahiti to Sydney with stops in Moorea, Bora Bora, Samoa, and FIJI (two stops here at Lautoka and Dravuni). We were a little surprised to get an text message 2 days before sailing about the need to ...

Seven Day French Polynesian Cruise

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Paul Gauguin

Seven day French Polynesian cruise with 300+ passengers October 29-November 5, 2022. Be aware the cruise is only six days (seven nights) which is too short for the travel time and expense to French Polynesia. Plan to book island stays for a week before or after the cruise. Our favorite resort was “Le Taha’a” a 50 bungalow resort on a motu accessible only by the resort boat off the west shore of ...

Our First Windstar Experience on the Lovely Star Breeze

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Star Breeze

We decided to try a different cruise line as our favorite has been Celebrity. We have sailed Carnival, Norwegian, Princess, Royal Caribbean, and Celebrity in the past. Since we had never been to French Polynesia, we chose Windstar and wanted to try out the Star Breeze which had just undergone expansion and refurbishment. Of course due to Covid, we had 2 cancellations before going on the ...

An enjoyable cruise marred by the disappointing food

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Azamara Journey

User Avatar

We are experienced cruisers and have tried a number of different cruise lines over many years. Overall, we enjoyed this cruise despite the disappointment of missing Raratonga due to the poor weather and conditions too dangerous to permit safe tendering. But the food was a huge disappointment and on the basis of that alone I do not expect we will ever choose Azamara again. At the outset we ...
