A lovely cruise but itinerary could be improved.

Review for a Asia Cruise on Azamara Journey

Had some reservations about Azamara as the company had changed hands since our last cruise with them. However, we were happy with the ship, cabin comfortable, excellent cabin attendant Raymond. Food good in dining room and buffet. We enjoyed the destination lectures. Agree with previous reviewer, the drummers from Kagoshima were amazing. Also the buffet on the deck before we reached ...

Seven Seas Explorer - Very good but not 5 Stars

Review for a Asia Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

14 Night Tokyo to Bangkok cruise on Seven Seas Explorer - in F1 Superior Suite single occupancy. First time on Regent and chose this cruise for the port variety. Demographic was as you would expect at this price point - over 65, with a real mixture of nationalities - large group of Australians, some New Zealanders and Canadians, good numbers from the UK and Europe, a few from Asia and the ...

A Few Unsettling Surprises

Review for a Asia Cruise on Seven Seas Navigator

We anticipated this cruise that was years in the planning. It was postponed several times due to Covid . Finally, on the fourth attempt at booking this "bucket list" travel event, we succeeded in getting aboard what was touted as an upscale ship rated a 10 for its culinary excellence. Indeed, when we entered our cabin, we were struck by its elegance and cleanliness. The Regents was a ...

Staterooms need a major overhaul

Review for a Asia Cruise on Silver Whisper

The ports in Japan were outstanding and the time of the year was perfect for us. The weather is also lovely in Japan in October. The stop in South Korea was a great bonus. The stateroom are worn, dated, and in ill-repair. Our carpeting was buckled and a "trip hazard". Our neighbors' carpet was actually ripped. The furniture had parts of the wood that were worn through the finish. The drawers ...

Well appointed ship with many, many activities

Review for a Asia Cruise on Spectrum of the Seas

The Spectrum of the Seas is a very large ship with many activities for families and people who want to experience onboard activities. Although my husband and I are in neither of those categories we enjoyed the cruise and particularly the quieter areas of the ship set aside for suite guests. Our junior suite was a good size and in very good condition. The food was good quality and the staff were ...

Excellent 1st Oceania cruise with caveats

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Insignia

This was our first experience sailing with Oceania. Overall, it was very enjoyable with a few minor problems I’ll outline later. Here are the positive points. Check in was a breeze. We arrived about 2:30pm and were immediately accompanied to the empty immigration and security areas. A few minutes later we boarded and checked in the quiet Insignia Lounge (again zero people waiting) and were ...

First Oceania Experience

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Insignia

We chose Oceania based on their culinary record, service and small size. We have previously cruised on Viking and love their modern ships. R class ships have been beautifully refurbished. We had sailed on Azamara Quest - a similar ship from Renaissance cruises. We joined the last segment of ATW cruise which began in San Francisco on January 2023! While a majority of the ship had been together ...

Classic Regent Luxury (with a few disappointments)

Review for a Asia Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

This was a 10-day itinerary around Japan, and we stayed aboard for nearly three weeks after while the ship sailed across the North Pacific, through the Aleutians and down the Inner Passage to Vancouver. Excellent cabin, restaurant, and cruise director staff. Entertainment & onboard speakers good (especially Gloeta, the Naturalist). We booked both Regent's pre-cruise "Vibrant Tokyo" package ...

How a great cruise was spoiled

Review for a Asia Cruise on Azamara Quest

The cruise experience was good. First I appreciated that everybody was tested for COVID before boarding. Very good food and plentiful including local preparations and fresh fruits, lots of restaurants on board, also lots of activities for all ages, games, music, dancing etc. The personnel always smiling, patient and helpful, the ship clean with good maintenance. The access for the passengers to ...

Overall, a wonderful experience. The itinerary was great, and we enjoyed all of the ports and excursions. We felt blessed to see peak sakura blooms at Hirosaki Castle in Aomori, and wandering Kanazawa on our own was a highlight. The send-offs and performances from the locals at each port during sailaways are not to be missed. Really, truly lovely and touching. You must make sure to be out on ...
