Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Sinfonia

This port is terribly directed... Finding directions to get to the "people mover" was difficult. Then no directions on what to do when you get the the people mover. Then you walk to an area where you finally see an MSC sign and get a bus to go to a port terminal, then wait for a boat that takes you to the ship. Hardly any directions and can start your trip very frustrated. ...

We stayed in Venice prior to the cruise, and we took the train from Venice to Trieste. It was super easy to do. We did a TourGuy tour of Venice, which showed and explained many of the big landmarks in Venice and included a gondola ride. We also attended a Vivaldi concert in Vivaldi church. The food was ok, and not as good as other parts of Italy. However, the scenery was stunning, and I think 2-3 ...

It was difficult to get to and from Venice from the ship. Prepare to do lots of walking. The tour basically showed you where the sites were but we did not go into any of them. Venice was crowded also. From were the ship is docked, you have to take a bus ride of about 45 minutes and then take a boat over to Venice. ...

Added two nights in Venice at beginning of Cruise to allow for delayed arrival (due to flight delays). Spent a full morning in Venice on our own, then booked a boat tour to both Murano & Burano in the afternoon. ...

We opted to take the tour of Burano and Murano and were do glad we did. The water transport took us right by St Marks Square and the bridges we had read about in Venice. However, the charm of the two islands was truly amazing. Multicolored homes, charming bridges, tour of a glass blowing place in Murano and a demonstration of lace making made for an awesome excursion. ...

We spent three additional days in Venice after the cruise. It is a wonderful place to roam, shop, eat and drink. Make sure to do your research before you go and you will have lots of fun finding you way around. One tip, eat where locals eat, try to stay away from the tourist restaurants. ...

Venice is wonderful but you either love it or hate it. I love it. Loved the gondola ride with music, the history, the food. As long as you can ignore the crowds and just go with the flow, it will be great. ...

Venice (Christmas Day) - great city, but still flooded. Very surreal. Very walkable, and since I'd been there previously, we didn't take a shore excursion. Did a gondola ride, a bit expensive but memorable, just COLD. ...

We had the chance to explore Venice before we got on board at Venice. It's a beautiful, decrepit, historic city. We bought a day pass for the public transport (20 Euros) and rode on the front seats of the Vaporettos (the boats that go along the grand canal) to have a good look around. Got off to wander around St Marks Square but didn't have time to tour the Doge's Palace or get into the Cathedral, ...
