Good but Tired

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

This was our first cruise and it lived up to some expectations and disappointed in others. The ship was great in terms of restaurants and bars, and the quality of the food and wine was also good. The wines were well selected and while not top shelf, were tasty. The food in Prime Seven and Signatures was excellent ( preferred Signatures). Poolside was just that. Compass Rose was a disaster, waiting ...

We have been on all the RSS ships (as well as Seaboard and Silversea) and enjoy Voyager best. Indeed we had the same suite 1005 as last year from Singapore to Dubai. Meantime there has been extensive excellent refurbishment which has enhanced several areas. Indeed after a less than satisfactory cruise in November on Explorer (a massive disappointment) we were regarding this cruise as make or ...

This was our second cruise on the Explorer. Our previous one was when the ship was "young" - fall, 2016. We were so impressed that we chose another cruise 8 months later. In addition, the itinerary fit our vacation plans. After spending several days in Norway, we boarded the ship in Stockholm. Embarkation was very smooth. We arrived at about 2 PM and within a half hour were relaxing in our cabin, ...

We chose the Regent 7 night cruise to Alaska on the advice of our very knowledgeable travel consultant at AAA in Stuart, FL. As first time cruisers, we were a little apprehensive on embarking on this adventure. No worries, it was a perfect vacation in every way. This cruise on the Seven Seas Mariner was an all inclusive trip which provided a spacious suite with a veranda, king bed, large bath ...

This was our first cruise on Regent and it surpassed our expectations. Staff and Service were excellent. Our penthouse suite was very nice, roomy and extremely well cared for.Our butler was always on hand for whatever we needed. All the restaurants were excellent with great wine choices and my wife particularly liked tea time with many pastry choices every day at 4 o'clock. What I think we ...

We choose this cruise because of the itinerary , Panama Canal , Costa Rica , Guatemala , all those countries we haven't been ..and who are very interesting . The cabins are not very spacious , but correct . No need to take a Penthouse class , anyway the area is exactly the same , it's only the situation on the ship that differs , and you get the help of a butler . There are 3 restaurants ...

Not up to Expectations

First cruise on Regent Seven Seas. Heard good things and had high expectations. Ship is "tired" and showing wear. Hanging artwork a joke. SPA was crowded. Food was good but not exceptional. Service was only average in restaurants, staff not well trained. Had to stack plates on table before they would remove them. Internet was bad to nonexistent. Excursions (included) were okay, but ...

Overall met or exceeded expectations. First time on Regent. PRO: check in/out was efficient (got in room before 2PM otherwise you hang out on board after boarding after noon), room very good and butler was excellent, food was very good, restaurants very good, excursions well executed, wife said spa was as good as any she goes to, pool area in good shape , staff attentive for the most part, ...

Food was the best I've had on any cruise ship. Cruised 12 times. Ship's staff also some of the best as well as their service. Specialty restaurant Pacific Rim clearly our favorite. Ship always spotless. Liked flying business class with one night at hotel with breakfast and the fact that all transfers were included if you choose Concierge E or above. To me well worth the extra and no hassle. ...

We wanted a relaxing cruise with a luxury cruise line and the opportunity to explore a portion of Alaska while enjoying fantastic scenery. We were not disappointed. The embarkation and disembarkation were incredibly well organized. Our penthouse suite (1014) and our butler (Irfan) were simply fabulous. The room was quite spacious with a wonderful balcony. The amenities were first rate and every ...
