We did Alaska early June. I think you'd do better to do a combo land /sea tour if you really want to feel like you were in Alaska. Here is a quick review; I loved the piano bar, service great and piano guy was great! The ship overall is like a small city, but didn't feel too crowded. Pools are a waste in Alaska, but Solarium was nice for adults only. We did I-fly, they were organized but ...

Wonderful Cruise to Alaska

My husband and I chose this cruise because of the itinerary. This was our first Holland American cruise, but we had cruised to Alaska before on RC, Princess, and Ignore. We could book an Ocean view room for 14 days for the cost of a Balcony for 7 days, plus we wanted to visit Homer, Kodiak and Sitka. Our Cabin was Ocean view 3376. We had read other reviews about it being noisy, but it fit our ...

BACKGROUND INFORMATION This was an Alaskan adventure on the newly refurbished Norwegian Joy. Alaska is one of our favorite locations to sail. The scenery and sea life can’t’ be matched. We sailed on inaugural Bliss last year and we were scheduled to be on “inaugural” Joy after her $50M refurbishment to move her from an Asian-based ship to an “American” ship. But, NCL had other plans and ...

Great Ship The ship is great and the staff is fantastic. It is nice the water and specialty coffees are included. No photographer constantly taking pictures. Also no cocktail staff in the theater during the shows. The rooms are very nice, larger than most other ships and the cabin attendants were unreal. The company touts the "Finest Cuisine at Sea" and theirs ranks among the more ...

Paid over 14k for a 4 person cruise, GF and twin boys. First trip to Alaska so I did not want plain jane instead I opted for a mini-suite and paid for everything months before departure. This also included 2 nights in Seattle Washington. We were to stay at the Seattle Westin which I found to be a mistake after the fact. The cabin says suite but rather it was like a normal room with very ...

Great Once in a Lifetime Cruise

We sailed on Ovation of the Seas out of Seattle, Washington in May of 2019 and visited the ports of Juneau and Skagway, Alaska and Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. FLIGHT: Okay, I had to fly this time instead of just driving or taking the train. So, I’ll be up front, I don’t like flying because all of the checks make it inconvenient. Understandably so, but still not a relaxing part of ...

I took this cruise with my mother because we had been talking about it for awhile. I was blown away by how much fun this type of vacation was. I will defiantly cruise to Alaska again. I cruised on the Holland America Eurodam because that ended up being what was available for the time frame I wanted as well as price, it was an amazing ship. We booked an interior cabin and only ate at the buffet for ...

I am very late giving this ship/cruise a review. I’m planning another cruise and remember now how important these reviews are when deciding what ship/cruise to take. This was my first Celebrity cruise. I’ve been on all the others except for HAL. We expected Celebrity to be a bit more upscale than Princess, NCL, and RC. It was about the same, but that was okay. The crowd was a little ...

The Amsterdam is a classy older ship. The staff were friendly and attentive through out. They appeared to really like working there. Lanai cabin was great for being able to access the deck and follow sights around the lower prominade. The service in the main dining room was super, although the menu was sometimes not as good as the Lido. The Pinnacle was a lovely, special experience with ...

Alaska still holds, for travellers, the experience of the Great Outdoors of wild forests, mountain sky lines, fast and slow flowing water ways. Wild life abounds in their natural habitat that will hold you in that moment. Spend your leisure time in local restaurants and saloons passing the time with the local people. Sunrise and Sunsets make many photo opportunities. We took the before and ...
