Went on this voyage to see the Northern Lights. NO Northern Lights. Hurtigruten advertise a free trip if you do not see them, but you have to have an inside cabin, pay through the nose for your food. A real advertising gimmick and not to be trusted. The ship is ok, but you have to buy everything except for the air you breath. We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. The centrum is the common area where they have nightly entertainment. Seating is limited on the 4th floor. People hang over the balconies of higher floors to take part. On the 3rd day of the cruise, we were informed that a small percentage of guests had Norovirus. Went on an excursion to Boda and Saltstruam. It was in a bus, it was dark, we saw nothing but lights in houses and shops and factories. This cruise was recommended to us by our travel agent as it was more of a experience especially as we have not done any cruises before. Only about 500 people on board which for us was ideal. No real entertainment, just beautiful scenery and education about the area. Excursions were ok - we like to be active so the bus trips around town hold no appeal. We did enjoy the hikes. Seen a lot and had great food. Never a bored moment. Nice meetings with the expedition team with interesting information and stories about Norway. Deck 6 Is a nice place for your cabin. On deck 5 you can walk around the hole ship and people can look into your cabin. No luxury cruise things like swimming pools, big shows and entertainment but just the way I like it.
