This was our 5th P&O cruise and the 1st time on IONA. We travelled as a party of three, two adults and a teenager. This was also the largest number of fellow guest passengers we have ever sailed with circa 5.5k. The ship was full. Boarding that many passengers is always going to be a challenge, which was the case, slightly longer than normal with the process taking around 90 mins from parking the ...
Executive Summary. (If you are not an executive, skip this paragraph.) The itinerary was "In Search of the Northern Lights." We saw the Lights four times over three nights, so in a sense this was a successful cruise. However, although Viking does many things well, they failed in one very important component - they did not meet the expectations of my taste buds! The menus were good, but the ...
Before commenting on the cruise, a bit of advice. If you have booked a cabin and you are happy with the location, the favoured being midships, be careful to tick the no upgrade box. Why wouldn’t you want an upgrade? Two reasons, it isn’t an upgrade in reality, you are just moved, without your agreement, to an identical cabin on a higher deck. The sting in the tail is that it is likely to be to one ...
Embarkation:
Apparently there was an issue with the gangway preventing the passengers departing from the previous cruise so we were kept waiting until gone 12 o'clock before anyone could board.
Quite efficient otherwise. They collected our luggage from the waiting area rather than outside due to the issues from the last cruise.
Cabins:
We had 2 cabins. I had a Superior ocean view. ...
We booked this cruise last minute as it seemed to be a good deal with a reduced drinks package fee and complimentary balcony upgrade. We had heard mixed reviews from other cruisers but as it was a good price we were willing to give it a go.
Overall impression of the ship - really beautiful aesthetic and the galleria area is impressive, however, on an evening when there are events happening the ...
We got a good deal on this ship and needed to use 5 days leave-had cruised on the Magnifica a few years so thought it would be good as a new ship. Beautiful, shiny, glossy and sparkly with fabulous entertainment and brilliant proper dining in the restaurants in the evening, however beware.
Horrendously expensive to buy anything-65 Euros EACH for a T-bone,1 Euros for a large Toblerone! Serious ...
My daughter wanted to visit Holland as her grandmother was Dutch, we had to travel in the school holiday as she works in a school. There were several issues we had; we had a lovely relaxing couples massage and then experienced a hard sell of the products, practically being 'tricked' into saying yes. My daughter wanted to buy a drinks package but, apparently we both had to purchase a package, which ...
Firstly the price of a cruise is a real bargain! You can't fault this.
Spotless ship and has a fantastic crew. I loved how clean the ship always was. I would also say the cabin was spotless and always cleaned with fresh towels. This was twice a day sometimes. I have to say the lift system is brilliant! It really works and never gets overcrowded and forced to stop on so many floors. Well ...
The ship is beautiful and we had a Bella balcony cabin which was very spacious and a lovely shower HOWEVER - the adult facilities are not enough for the amount of passengers. We were not full at 4,900 and it takes 6,300 but after a show or at dinner time it was heaving along the shop area. The theartre is underused during the day - it is small compared to other ships of smaller passengers. Only ...
We boarded MSC Euribia on the 24 th November , initially it didn’t disappoint , it certainly had the wow factor . The Glitzy stairs , the mall with its animated colourful ceiling . The staff were friendly and welcoming .
Before long our cabin was ready , we were on deck 13 and had an upgrade to a deluxe balcony cabin at no extra cost . Again we weren’t disappointed the cabin was clean , ...
