Overall, we loved the ship - the size was about perfect to have more amenities but not too many people. The stateroom and public spaces were very comfortable and well done without being ostentatious.
The food was generally very good but there were some definite misses. The asian style dishes were generally excellent as were breakfasts and lunch in the cafe. We found most pastries to be ...
Booked this cruise over a year ago to go in search of the northern lights. Relocation cruise prior to ours was cancelled due to an outbreak of gastrointestinal cases. This meant some hygiene restrictions were still in place for first few days. This did lead to some inconvenience and slow service. Some toilets were closed. After three days the restrictions were lifted and everything got back to ...
From the minute we walked on board we could feel the elegance of a Viking Ship. Our State Room was ready and it was what I expected and more. The choices of food are outstanding, and many I have never had before. Service on the ship made us feel like family, all crew members we encountered go above and beyond to help you. Some excursions were cancelled due to high winds at port. Whenever ...
Oh, how we wanted to love our first Viking cruise! All the advertising and all our friends and family said Viking’s the best, with all-balcony staterooms, a truly all-inclusive program, no one under 18 and lectures instead of casinos.
And we fully understand that weather happens, and the storm that trapped the Viking Venus in Tromsø, Norway, definitely was beyond Viking’s control. And Viking ...
We loved this voyage! The trip is for someone who is adventurous and doesn't mind being cold, wet, and blown around. Be prepared for 3 hours max daylight each day. The ship rocked substantially but I found it was manageable with a seasick pill every now and then and wrist bands. I didn't know of anyone who got sick. If anything the banging and creaking wall noises during the rough seas was the ...
We chose the Xploration bc it was a small ship and we wanted to have as much time with nature as possible and not waiting around in line behind a ship full of people to go on excursions. We sailed 12/16/23. I am including all the things I was surprised about.
The Xploration is good bc you get more time snorkeling bc the ship is smaller and is closer to the sites than the other 2 ...
The ship was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The service on board from every member of staff was excellent. Our cabin was upgraded for us and provided welcome extra space for three of us in a beautifully appointed suite. The entertainment was good, shows by the crew and a comedian we have seen before and thoroughly enjoyed again along with an excellent singer. Talks from the guest speakers ...
It may have been somewhat of a gamble to cruise on Mein Schiff 3, from a German port (Bremerhaven) that isn't even listed on CruiseCritic ... but we sure enjoyed it and would do it again in a flash. My wife and I are Belgian, so we understand German and speak it a little - but we are far from fluent. Then again, we reasoned that a lot of the staff- and crewmembers would not exactly be native ...
This is my 5th cruise, having travelled mainly with RC and P&O before this. Overall it was a good experience for being first time with MSC in Yacht Club.
Cabin was excellent- good size, clean, tidy, comes with a complementary choice of alcohol (ranging from hard liquor/champagne/wine) to take home with. Mini bar refilled daily, drinks are included, but note that snacks are included for the ...
Got to say that for my first cruise it was an experience. The ship it's self is stunning, loads of amenities, staff where friendly an helpful, well most of them.
We ate at our designated restaurant, which was Fantastic. Our waiters, Parta and Etienne where amazing, their service and attentiveness was outstanding.
The pools and hot tubs/jacuzzis where on point.
My disappointments where the ...
