We have taken Viking River cruises before and enjoyed them very much. We were anxious to take the ocean cruise on the new ORION.
The embarkation and disembarkation were very smooth and easy.
We appreciated the number of Viking staff that was available.
The dining was very good and we enjoyed and appreciated the great service. We especially liked the World Cafe with the great choices of ...
This was our second Viking cruise. Our first was a river cruise from Amsterdam to Basel. We had such an amazing time we decided to try an ocean cruise on Viking. The ship was beautiful and had everything we wanted. Excellent foods, great staff, great shore excursions. Our room was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the pools, entertainment, spa. The countries we visited were amazing. Scenery was ...
All of the food was top notch. The only issue was the fact that the Chef's Table had a different menu each night. We do not eat DUCK so we had to cancel. There needs to be more of a selection at the Chef's table.
The excursions could have been improved if there were handicap assistance provided off and on the ship. Also the excursions were great but could have been improved if wheelchairs ...
I'm a 46 year old with a working wife and we do pretty well for ourselves. We live in an upscale suburb in the US and are members of a country club. I'm telling you this so, you have a frame of reference for the person writing this review. i.e. I know good stuff when I see it. I don't consider the Cheesecake Factory a five star dinning experience. Not that there's anything wrong with the ...
My wife and I were eager to try Viking as we've heard multiple stellar reviews (from friends and family both). As someone who has in the past been on a lot of cruises with multiple different cruise lines I can sum up our experience on this cruise by simply stating it exceeded our wildest expectations in every category and has ensured two new Viking customers for life.
The ship itself is ...
From the first embarkation, service onboard the ship was very professional and attentive. Choice of restaurants was also very good, although it took us all week to get a time to dine at Manfredis. The process to get a reservation could be improved. Despite this, all dining experiences were top notch. food quality very high. Silver Spirits package was definitely worth the extra money. The ...
The trip was splendid. Two years ago, we took a marvelous Viking river cruise up the Danube that covered the eastern side of the former Yugoslavia (now Serbia & Croatia), so we chose to go down the western side (Croatia and Montenegro) when we saw that the Orion was going to make the trip. Having lived in Europe for about 10 years, and having been to Venice and Athens 3 and 4 times, we found ...
My husband and I sailed 12-19August, 1st time cruisers with NCL and already had another booked aboard NCL Bliss for October, MX Riviera. We opted for an inside cabin.
It IS a long walk from the People Mover in Venice to where you drop your bags off before you check in to board. Luckily our suitcases have wheels but would have thought there would be porters to assist. Dropped bags, checked in ...
The countries were those we hadn't been to. Most of the excursions were great. The rooms are spacious and clean. The service was excellent. We especially liked the 4X4 driving in Montenegro, the Fortification Walk, the National Forest/Falcon Place, Olympia and the Murano Glass.
We were with another couple and liked that there were tables for four. We liked the Italian dining room and ...
We chose this cruise primarily because we were interested in Croatia and Corfu, and this itinerary included both. We were able to work with our agent, Enzo, to accommodate a deviation so we traveled independently through Europe and arrived in Venice to embark. The ship was immaculate, service outstanding, meals perfect for our dietary needs, and the shore excursions were well-organized and ...
