Husband and I joined his parents for the first Viking Cruise (for all 4 of us). We sailed on the Mediterranean Antiquities journey and had a wonderful time. We picked early morning “upgraded” (paid) excursions with one exception (Monte Carlo, included tour), and our guides hit it out of the park 9/10 trips. The service on Viking is excellent and unobtrusive, and the ship decor and comfort level ...
We were interested in this cruise because we had never been to Greece or Turkey and were excited to follow the journey of the Apostle Paul. We booked a guaranteed verandah cabin and let Viking choose our particular stateroom and were thrilled to have been upgraded to the 6th deck in a lovely midship deluxe verandah cabin. Our stateroom, the service and food and beverage choices and the entire ship ...
We originally chose this cruise because it was going to Israel of course, due to the violence there, those ports were canceled. we decided to stay on this cruise just to get away. It was our first time on Viking, and we were very pleased. our cabin was very roomy and beautifully decorated. The ship itself is absolutely beautiful. The entertainment was wonderful, and the cruise Director (Matt)was ...
We chose this cruise because it was going to the Holy Lands. Unfortunately, we needed to be rerouted due to the current conflict. We decided to stay with the cruise because the rest of the trip would still be memorable, plus going with a group of friends. Malta was a good choice for the reroute. Mdina and Valetta were very interesting cities to visit. Our favorite excursion was Pompeii. ...
We were most excited to choose this cruise because Israel was on route. Disappointed but not to the extent to cancel. Also having experienced a few over the top river cruises we wanted to experience a Viking Ocean.
Other than a few glitches with winter flights and time changes this 15 day cruise was flawless. Of course Viking has a standard of service and amenities that is elevated beyond ...
We chose this cruise because it included 3 days in Israel. Unfortunately, due to the tragic events that occurred on October 7, the 3 ports in Israel were cancelled. Two days in Malta and an extra half day in Cyprus were added to the itinerary. Viking provides a free excursion in each port. We had taken a Viking River cruise and had heard good things about Viking Ocean cruises. The ship was ...
This was our 4th Norweigan ship and cruise. Out of 20 cruises sailed this was the worst ship we have ever been on. The venues for the shows were small, the layout of the ship was noisy, and the food was cold or overdone, more often than not. The entertainment was repeated and not that great of quality. A large casino , but prices of buyins were high so tables sat empty a lot. Speciality ...
This ship is very old and outdated. Poor condition, rust on bathroom wall and the balcony area. The interior was old and worn out and not very appealing as it was dark and dreary. While inside the ship during the day you felt like it was nightime. the food was just average with limited places to eat lunch or breakfast. The entertainment was just so-so and limited for a long 16 day cruise. The ...
We chose this cruise because it was a great price and we loved the ports prior to the transatlantic crossing. Here are some bullet points of our disappointment:
When I entered my stateroom there was duct tape on the vent in the shower room and the toilet room.
There was lots of rust all around the ship, including our balcony.
There were ceiling tiles falling down in one of ...
My wife and I and my parents just returned from a 10-day Cruise on Carnival Venezia, leaving from NYC to the Caribbean.
The cruise ship docks at Manhattan Cruise Terminal. We live in upstate NY, about 6 hours away. With 4 people, it’s cheaper to drive than fly. We booked 2 rooms in Fairfield Inn North Bergen. They had a Cruise Package that would let us park the car at the hotel for 10 days ...
