We wanted to go on an upscale cruise so we wouldn't be "nickeled and dimed" with everything. Aside from being extremely expensive (with all the add-on's it wound up costing close to $8000 per person and it was definitely NOT worth the price.
Let me start at the beginning. We booked a10 day cruise to Turkey and the Greek Islands. Oceania claims that they have the best food of any cruise ...
Well, where do i start. Ship is old and states that it had refirbushment. Well that may be but it still looks old. Our room balcony had been touched up with paint. Paint was over furniture and on ground. Obviously dont know about drop sheets to protect everything. No entertainement, as in broadway style shows that i have been on with Carnival and NCL (which have all been excellent). No comedy ...
Norwegian Esacape was a really Lovely ship and we thoroughly enjoyed our cruise. However the Pool on the top deck was way too small for the amount of passengers onboard - so this definitely was a big down point for this voyage! The Speciality restaurants were really nice but to be honest the regular dining restaurants were probably up to the same standard.
Loved the whole experience of ...
My wife and I finally got back to cruising in July and I thought I might give my impressions of Edge (our first time on an Edge class ship) and changes in cruising we noticed.
First Edge was a great ship and our infinity veranda was an excellent choice. The infinite veranda allows you to be on your veranda and still in your cabin at the same time. On this cruise the weather in Europe was hot, ...
7 nights from Athens to Barcelona.
Boarding in Athens - hot! Now yes - it’s Greece in the middle of summer - however the terminal is a huge marquee. There were air con units but they were not really making much difference. If we had been able to board at our allocated time then we would not have been there long, but everyone seemed to think they can just turn up when they want and Princess ...
Not our first time to MSC, we chose MSC because we had travelled before Covid with them and had been impressed with their ships ,staff, food, cleanliness, price etc.
The MSC Virtuosa is stunning, new, modern whilst remaining elegant & classy, it is a beautiful ship and we wouldn't hesitate to come back.
MSC deserves A LOT OF CREDIT , the staff have 'nailed' health & safety re : Covid-19, we ...
The positives
- Food and wait staff very good, they really made the cruise
- Itinerary was good, longer in some ports would be better and could be managed better than what they did
- Embarkation was a breeze as was de-embarkation, very seamless process
- Good size suite, very spacious
- entertainment was good
The negatives
- Cruise director was out of her depth, little ...
We are a married couple in our 60's who chose this cruise after having enjoyed an experience a couple years ago on the Paul Gauguin, a small cruise ship in Tahiti. That ship accommodated 300 people and we really loved the smaller passenger load, more personal service and the ability to go from island to island rather than being on a cruise that wastes days at sea. We had always wanted to do a ...
we have been on about 14 cruises with Thompson/Marella(and other cruises) so id like to think what I write is a fair opinion.
Getting on/off ship, bit of a wait to get on due to proof of Covid vaccination's/antigen result etc. but ok.
Balcony cabin, immaculate as usual and always cleaned and made up .
Food, good quality but a noticeable lack of choice from previous ...
Great return to cruising - HAL exceeded my expectation from food, service and fun. We were a family of 4- 2 kids aged 9 and 12. The Med Itinerary was excellent- only place I would not want to return to was Albania. I really enjoyed the stop and the day at sea. It was a busy cruise and very hot so we enjoyed getting back to the ship each evening for a swim in the pool and a few Aperol spritz. Great ...
