Our cruise was amazing. Everything Viking does from how immaculate the ship and rooms are to the free excursions in every port are top notch. Because of the Mar's size and the much lower amount of passengers it can accompany we never felt crowded anywhere on the ship. There were so many places onboard inside and out to have quiet time to yourself. The ship's crew were all very polite and provided ...
Cruise on Iona from Southampton to Canaries on a 2 week cruise after having been on the MSC Euribia the week before. I had my first cruise on the Azura in 2022.
I had seen some reviews of the Iona described as Butlins at sea and my first impressions were that this was rubbish. However, by the second day, I realised they were absolutely right, it is definitely Butlins at sea and for a number of ...
Travelled on Iona to Portugal, Canaries and Spain
Cadiz cancelled and only 6 other port days. Far too many people for the space, everything always booked up, weather not the best and the ship struggled on these many long sea days. Doors to corridor service hatches opening and banging all night on several nights. To top it off found a live bed bug in room on last day, no bites or evidence of ...
So to clarify this is my second cruise
to begin, the service was poor and distasteful. the staff seemed disinterested rather serving they seem only to speak to each other and hide in corners. I get that, but with MSC servers are always there. They even straight up ignore you. there were some a few like three staff who were utterly amazing and a credit to the industry.
entertainment: evening ...
We were on the ship for 2 weeks and it flew by. The ship itself, all the options for dining, entertainment, luxurious accommodations, cruise amenities, included and extra excursions, outstanding crew & excellent service were amazing. We were blown away by all Viking had to offer. This was our first cruise and it was so fabulous, we booked another river cruise for 2026. We are now spoiled and ...
Party:
2 adults aged 30 and 64, previously cruised three times with Marella (Dream, and Explorer 2 x2), with NCL 4 times (Jade, Breakaway x2 and Prima), and 3 other cruises in the early 00s on now defunct lines. We don't have any disabilities, we didn't use the casino and we didn't travel with kids, so we can't comment on these. If you have read my reviews before you'll know that we cruised ...
Excellent cruise from Rio to Lisbon. Very friendly staff. Atmosphere is upscale-casual: Few men wore sport jackets at any time. Ship was about 3/4 full, with almost all passengers being in their fifties and up. There were no children. Large mix of nationalities (US, UK, Canada, Australia, etc.). It got a bit rocky towards the end of the cruise and the captain chose to skip the Madeira port of ...
Pros.. the balcony room was of a good size and didn't disappoint. The excursions were well organised but only in English. free shuttles from some of the ports to town centre were offered. The entertainment was good enough.
Cons... the ship deals only in English. Excursions only offered in English even though departing from Athens. Everything is geared towards American traveller; the air ...
Have cruised many times, usually on P and O, this time we flew to Tenerife, cruised around Canaries, Madeira, mainland Spain, Sardinia, and Greece. We really enjoyed the ports, flights were good too. The staff on board Azura were lovely, very hard working and always willing to please. Our cabin was a balcony and light and airy, but showing its age.
However, we found all the cutbacks took ...
Another superb cruise on the Azamara Quest, we were in a club continent suite this time as the bathroom in a veranda room is very small , our suite was very nice lots of storage and we were able to put the suitcases under the bed. The company has changed hands since our last voyage and it is noticeable in the cuts they are making considering the guests on board we’re 54% return cruisers they ...
