We are avid travellers and have been on numerous cruises including many with Oceania.
Here's an overview of our most recent cruise with Oceania on the ship Regatta.
The food is very good when it comes to your table hot. There were a few times in the dining room when the food was luke warm and we were served food on plates and bowls that were chipped or damaged. The buffet food is hit or ...
The main draw for booking this cruise was the itinerary which cruised one way from Honolulu to Tahiti, New Zealand and Australia over our 20th anniversary. Having sailed twice on Celebrity since cruising restarted it is the cruise line my husband and I are most familiar with at this time. Everything went as planned with no problems or disruptions and the weather was fantastic. Overall it was an ...
We had sailed the Westerdam a couple of times before and felt that it was one of the best ships of a very good line. The ship itself is still very good indeed, so why were we disappointed? Alas, just about every staffer we encountered seemed unfamiliar with their job. Standing in line for the front desk, a staffer came out and asked who needed service, but obviously everyone did if they were in ...
We were disappointed with the cruise from Vancouver to Tokyo, for it lacked the five star quality that we were expecting. We have been on over 20 cruises, and in certain areas-like the internet and excursions-it was by far the worse of any cruise. Perhaps Regent is now a three star line.
I will start with The Good. The food ranged from good to excellent, with the specialty restaurants and ...
We got quite a bumpy start,,, our first stop in Alaska before heading to Japan was cancelled. I was really looking foward to see the inside passage and Ketchikan. That stop has been replaced by a stop at Victoria, beautifull city. We did an unplaned 12 hrs pit stop for fuel??? at Dutch Harbor in the Aleutians with interdiction to go ashore, grrr. But we been blessed by the sight of many dozens of ...
We wanted to take my MIL and FIL on vacation. Living in Hokkaido their entire life, they'd never been to the USA. We found this transpacific cruise last September and we chose it- my second repositioning cruise; their first cruise EVER.
Embarkation - we'd received a message indicating the Inside Passage was now a no-go. Ok, I thought- though beautiful, it wasn't a deal breaker. We got on ...
There were many things to recommend about the trip/ ship, but a few things you should know.
First, the good. The entertainment was pretty great. My cabin was just fine. The specialty restaurants had great food. The buffet was pretty good. The acupuncturist seemed excellent. A couple of the parties were very fun and memorable - like the one for crossing the equator - blackness all ...
Longer cruise than the usual 7-14 days, expected more bang for your buck as we are diamond plus but this voyage fell well short of the mark.
We ate mostly in wind jammers as the main dining food was not up to standard, so menu repeated for the entire cruise and not a lot of anything decent to choose from. ( you could go to wind jammers and get the same food) without having to wait for slow ...
We sailed from Brisbane to Alaska on the Quantum of the Seas. The staff as always were efficient, hard working and kind. The food, however was disappointing and certainly inferior to pre covid days. Poor quality cuts of meat were used, any chicken dish in the Windjammer was inedible as the chicken pieces were just grizzle and chewy, as were the stews, having fatty grizzled meat in them. The ...
We chose this cruise because the offer from the travel company (Imagine Cruising) seemed great. In hindsight it wasn't all that terrific.
First of all, the ship is beautiful. Very understated, but at the same time oppulent. Beautiful chandeliers, nice rooms to relax in.
Our stateroom (1105) was great. We stayed in that cabin for 5 weeks (Barcelona to Sydney). Room steward Steven was ...
