When we got to the beach there were no available lounges.. had to really stalk othe cruise passengers who were leaving so we could get chairs. Thrn we were asked to pay for umbrellas.. when we refused and told the attendant that they were supposed to be included, he said “ok.. I will not charge you”.. was that a scheme to make some extra $$? We will never know.. overall it was an “ok” excursion. The beach was beautiful. Read Less

Nice drive and coastline. Beach was nice with chairs ($10 for an umbrella) but didn't need one as there were trees to give us some shade at the Spice Mill beach (Cockleshell Bay). Nice view of Nevis island nearby also.

We booked only one shore excursion which was in St Kitts. We booked the St Kitts Beach Break excursion for a three hour visit to the Spice Mill Restaurant and Bar at Cockleshell Beach. The excursion included transportation to and from the Spice Mill, a free drink and beach chair. The gathering point for this excursion was on the pier. The gathering was a cluster/mess of people all jumbled up and we finally were ushered into a line of people for the beach break excursion but different than the one we were slotted for. Regardless, we boarded a nicely air-conditioned bus and were off to the Spice Mill. Our driver was quite knowledgeable and gave some good details of landmarks on our way to the beach. We arrived and as we stepped off the bus we were handed a cup of juice with no alcohol that we found our later was our “free drink”. Once on the beach we were warmly greeted and ushered to our chairs. We rented umbrellas for $10 per and settled down for a relaxing visit. Service was spotty but very friendly. We ended up just taking the short walk to the bar which served some really good rum drinks. Our visit was short, and we were soon on our way back to the ship. Read Less

Our booked excursion was cancelled due to high winds so we found a taxi driver at the port who took us to Frigate Bay Beach. Nice 15 minute ride through Basseterre narrated by our driver, $12. $10 rented an umbrella and two beach chairs on the beach. Several bars and eating establishments on the beach. A young man who set us up with the umbrella also checked back occasionally to see if we wanted him to get us anything. We had conch fritters and fries for lunch, vodka tonics and pina colotas. Nice sandy beach, only one person selling aloe massages, one guy with a table set up to sell his carvings. Our beach attendant called the same taxi service to pick us up when we were ready to go back to the ship $12. All around a perfect beach day. Read Less
