U Bein Bridge: Visit nearby Amarapura, a short drive from Mandalay's port. In Amarapura, you can walk the beautiful U Bein Bridge, a 0.25-mile bridge built in 1783 out of reclaimed teak wood that spans Taungthaman Lake. It's crowded with tourists no matter the time of day, so the best photo ops are from a sampan (small boat). From that vantage point, you can watch fishermen haul in their nets and people crossing the bridge -- especially lovely at sunset.
