Had some reservations about Azamara as the company had changed hands since our last cruise with them. However, we were happy with the ship, cabin comfortable, excellent cabin attendant Raymond. Food good in dining room and buffet.
We enjoyed the destination lectures.
Agree with previous reviewer, the drummers from Kagoshima were amazing.
Also the buffet on the deck before we reached ...
We have been very pleased with our suite. We were upgraded to a queens grill penthouse. ALTHOUGH WE PROBABLY HAD OVERPAID INITIALLY BECAUSE WE BOOKED WELL IN advance and prices were later reduced!
The catering has been excellent and the staff have been wonderful.
My complaint concerns shore excursions which have been poor. In mauritius we were travelling in a poor quality coach. There was ...
DW and I have been on dozens of cruises over the past 40+ years and now that we are retired and blessed to afford more luxury travel options, we have started trying out the luxury cruise lines starting with Seabourn. We booked the Quest transatlantic crossing from Miami to Las Palmas sailing on March 24. We booked with our preferred travel agent into a Verandah Suite and in December we accepted ...
1) Food was good, not great
2) Shore excursion guides were not always proficient in English
3) Hired non-Oceania guide for Kyoto (from GetYourGuide) and had wonderful experience
4) Excursion to view Mt Fuji was a wasted day - coming into the port in the AM provided the best view and photo ops from the ship’s deck - excursion took us to the far side of the bay (much further away) or a ...
We just returned from 12 days in Japan on Riviera. We fell in love with Japan and will absolutely return someday!
Background:
Active couple (58 and 59), well traveled both on land and at sea, second O cruise, other cruises on X, HAL, RCCL, first trip to Asia, love good food and better wine. My comments are simply our impressions and I respect that others will have contrasting input. ...
Another superb cruise on the Azamara Quest, we were in a club continent suite this time as the bathroom in a veranda room is very small , our suite was very nice lots of storage and we were able to put the suitcases under the bed. The company has changed hands since our last voyage and it is noticeable in the cuts they are making considering the guests on board we’re 54% return cruisers they ...
This is our 6th cruise with Azamara and we were somewhat concerned at how things would be on board after suffering through the booking process on the new, badly implemented and frankly appalling booking system.
First impressions are that the ship is looking a little tired with some areas needing a spruce up but overall these issues are not major.
Officers and crew are, as usual, outstanding ...
Overall it was a good cruise . We really liked some things like our cabin. Disliked other things like the lunch buffet at La Veranda . And thought some items were so-so. Like the excursions. I will say the staff and management were excellent. You book this class of ship because you want a smaller ship experience. ie no waiting in lines or fighting for pool chairs . Since the pandemic I have ...
There were 591 on this cruise (ship accommodates about 675) with a crew of about 400. This is considered an upscale line and ship and it is. The ship and crew did a fine job. The food was excellent and much better than most of their competitors, but they could use some menu additions and modifications. We love azamara and love the quest and you will too. This ship was apparently overhauled about ...
We wanted to see parts of South America. We enjoyed the food and service. The excursions were pricey so we did most touring on our own in ports. In Ponte Del Este, we obtained a private driver and toured the whole area including a visit to casa Pueblo, which was amazing. We took the ship’s excursion to see Christ the Redeemer and the beaches. On the way back to the ship. The bus driver lost ...
