Our cruise on Joie de Vivre originating in Paris was truly superb!! From the omlet chef at breakfast to the head matre de in the dining room truly a white glove service experience. We were celebrating my sister's 60th b'day and had a wonderful time. The itinerary may seem somewhat boring, but we had an excursion guide, Barbara ,that made for a memorable and interesting time in both the gardens of ...
This was our first river cruise and we chose Uniworld because of its all inclusive nature. We booked our own travel and stayed for 3 nights in Amsterdam prior to boarding the ship. When we did board mid day, we were welcomed and shown around and encouraged to partake of the lounge offerings and lunch (and on the day of debarkation the guests were encouraged again to stay for lunch and hang out in ...
The SS Antoinette was a beautiful ship and the personal service was so impressive. We stayed on the upper deck with a balcony that had an automatic window that we loved to open and watch the river go by at night. The staff on board quickly learned our names and our favorite cocktails each day. We arrived thinking that the two of us just wanted to spend our 25th anniversary alone because we have ...
This was our 3rd Uniworld river cruise and our 6th river cruise overall. We have enjoyed every river cruise we have ever taken, but have stayed with Uniworld after our travel agent recommended that we switch to them. Uniworld's service is wonderful.
The excellent service starts the moment you get within eyesight of the embarkation area. The crew take your luggage and usher you onboard to a ...
My "bucket list" contained Tulips, and I satisfied it with this cruise! Keukenhof Gardens was simply an amazing place. Even in inclement weather the tulips just "sparkle". Upon inquiry, Cruise Director Rik set us up with a wheelchair, for which there was no charge! Otherwise, as an elder, I could hardly have seen very much (my adult granddaughter pushed me around for spectacular ...
This was our second Uniworld river cruise. The Joie de Vivre is as beautiful as the pictures! Of interest to many are the beautiful fabrics used throughout the boat. Would love to go again after the new furniture is broken in. Thinking squishy, soft seating where one could curl up with a book. A favorite activity when we were on the SS Antoinette.
Highlights were the Normandy and the Monet's ...
The Joie de Vivre lives up to its name. From the luxurious bedding to the push-button draperies and windows and the marble bathroom, the cabin exemplifies the joy of living well. The whole is beautifully decorated with the comfort of the passengers always considered. There were a couple of small glitches, the bathroom floor warmer did not work and the entry waterfall gave out after the first day; ...
Normandy has been on list for quite some time and we decided to take advantage of a Uniworld offer on their newest ship and visited Normandy in mid April. We began our trip in Lyon and then spent a few nights in Paris before taking a taxi to the ship from our hotel in the 9th.
All in all, we had a very pleasant experience, with a few missteps.
Itinerary highlights:
- Giverney was just ...
We used Uniworld on our 4 previous European river cruises and had been given a discount voucher because of some travel disruption last time (which was no fault of Uniworld and they took care of us extremely well.) We decided we would like to see the Kukenhof Gardens in April. I was not expecting a great deal from the ship, as it pre-dated and had smaller cabins than the magnificent Marie ...
The Uniworld cruise in the lagoon of Venice turned upside down any preconceptions we had of the region. The number of islands, the extent of the waterway and it's environment was a revelation. The cruise itinerary was excellent allowing us time to visit the historical sites around the Grand Canal (including some out of hours special tours) and to explore several of the islands and wetland areas ...
