The places visited were spectacular and the sites and scenes along the Nile were almost magical, however the itinerary of getting to and from these places was somewhat cumbersome. This was our third Uniworld cruise and I can’t believe how disappointed We were with the lack of quality This was very overpriced for the ship, and the disappointment in the quality of the food. It was mediocre at best, we had many fellow travelers complaining as well. The dining staff was rude, one lady ask if she could have a sample of the entrees, she was told NO”we only serve full portions”! ...

We traveled on the SS Antoinette from Amsterdam to Basel on October 2-9, 2022. The ship is decorated in Uniworld unique décor that is very ornate. Our room 314 was nice and had comfortable beds, ample storage, nice sized bathroom and worked well for our stay. I would liked to have had more USB type outlets. Just one outlet next to bed. We recently completed a Uniworld Cruise (Castles Along the Rhine) on the ship, SS Antoinette from Basel to Amsterdam (09.25.22 to 10.02.22 with a post-cruise extension for all in Amsterdam until 10.04.22). two (2) Parents (us), two (2) Adult children with spouses for a total of six (6) guests.

We have done one previous Uniworld cruise in Bordeaux in 2018 and absolutely loved it. At the end of that trip we asked our fabulous cruise manager Tania, what cruise she recommended and she suggest the Douro. Due to COVID disruptions, we finally did it in September 2022. Bused from originating point(Budapest) to Vienna for a 2.5 hour tour.
Bused from Vienna to Tulln for reboarding, then sailed to Linz, At.
Sailed from Linz to Passau/Vilshofen where we sat for 5 days. We did several bus tours to regional attractions. Salsburg was the best of the stops.

This was a BUS TOUR not a river cruise!!! Due to "HISTORICAL" low waters on the Danube we sailed less than three days out of 16 days. Historic low waters do not happen overnight?! We were bussed from port to port and excursion to excursion.

We choose this cruise, as we were looking forward to having a relaxing cruise seeing the Danbue and Rhine, the locks and all the beautiful scenery along the way. We expected a fantastic river cruise 2 weeks ago. Our trip had been postponed for 2 years due to COVID and some health issues. Uniworld knew that the rivers were low, but gambled on the predictions of rain. Well the rain never came and we only sailed 1 day on the Danube.
