My husband and I chose this cruise to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This was our second cruise - the first one was on the Conquest in Jan 2008 with our 19 and 21 yr old sons. On the Valor, it was just the two of us. The Valor is a "sister ship" to the Conquest.
We loved the specialty steakhouse and dinner in the main dining room. My husband is a chef and was very impressed with the ...
feb 2 flew to Miami the day of the cruise. We put six people in a cab with a flat rate of $24 to Port of Miami. When we got in view of the port we offered the driver $10 to stop at a store for wine. (can board with two bottles per cabin) We keep our luggage thru the boarding process so that we can unpack quicker than to have to wait for someone to deliver bags at a later time.
We cruised on the ...
We were in a group of six, all of which has cruised several times on Carnival. We sailed on the Carnival Valor Feb. 3-10, 2013.
We flew in a day early to Fort Lauderdale and stayed at the Ramada Inn Fort Lauderdale Airport/Cruiseport.
We purchased transfers from John's Service and arrived at the Miami Cruiseport by 10:50AM and were on board by 11:20AM. Everyone was very helpful and the line ...
We thought we would give Carnival another try and were disappointed for the last time. We usually cruise with Royal Caribbean and thought we would give Carnival another try since RCL didn't go to the ports we wanted to go to in January. The Food was unsatisfactory at the buffet and in the dining room. Our room Steward- Jerry was great! The 3 servers we had in the Lincoln dining at the 8:15pm ...
This was our seventh cruise and the first with Carnival. We were travelling with first time cruisers. They had a great experience but had basically the same comments we had. Food in dining room was great, service was wonderful, Steak house served the best meal I have ever eaten. I was disappointed in the fish and chip restaurant - food seemed greasy. Buffet was OK, deserts were incredible, the guy ...
This is the third cruise my husband and I have been on. Previously we have sailed on the Liberty and Glory. The Valor is exactly like the Liberty and Glory, just with different decor.
I was a little disappointed with my cruise this time, perhaps because of the economy I expect my dollar to go a bit further than it did on the Valor. We had two scheduled sea days on our trip, plus one extra ...
I am writing this review from the perspective of experienced cruisers (20+ cruises and more than 250 days at sea) who usually go on other, slightly more upscale cruise lines (primarily Princess, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean). So the disclaimer is that we typically would not cruise on Carnival. We chose the Carnival Valor for an extended family vacation get together with three generations of ...
Group: This was our 4th cruise as a family (2 adults aged 43 and 4 children aged 15,16,17 and 18. The couple traveling with us had never cruised before, their ages 50, 50, 19, 17 and 16.
Pre-cruise: We flew into Miami 1 day early and took our pre-arranged shuttle to South Beach and checked into the Pelican Hotel. Very small, eclectic hotel in the heart of Miami Beach. Booked on Hotwire for ...
Being new to cruising we were worried what to expect and what was expected of us. We should not of worried, staff guided us all the way through our cruise with anything we needed. The Fun ships with carnival are very casual which was a little disappointing when it came to dining, I felt it was a little too casual with people wearing baseball caps etc especially when elegant evening no restrictions ...
Embarkation from Miami was very organized and fast. We arrived around 12:00 and were eating lunch by 1:00 at the Buffet.
We had an inside room on Deck 1 at the way back. I WOULD NOT recommend a cabin in the aft of the ship - get a mid-ship cabin. We were woken up every morning that we pulled into port by violent vibrations and loud noise due to the thrusters. This did not ruin our vacation, ...
